Announcement: on 22 September, OpenAI introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna. They are available in ChatGPT Work and Codex for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu users, and through the API as gpt-6-sol and gpt-6-luna. OpenAI says the rollout in ChatGPT is gradual; the models were not yet available in Chat at the time of the announcement.
Pricing: OpenAI lists GPT-6 Sol at $2 for input and $10 for output per million tokens, and GPT-6 Luna at $0.10 and $0.50. That is 50% below the promotional GPT-5.6 prices. The company also reports a 90% discount on reused input through prompt caching. These are supplier prices and claims, not a guarantee of the total cost of a business process.
