New UniFi Design Center automatically plans Wi-Fi from your floor plan

The redesigned Design Center imports an image or PDF of a floor plan, detects walls, and simulates RF coverage. Zones and required client capacity can then generate automatic proposals for access point placement and channel planning.

What does this mean for you?

For new or refurbished locations, the path from design to deployment becomes shorter: designs can be sent to Site Manager for pre-provisioning and stay synchronized across web and mobile. A simulation remains a plan; verify the design on site and adapt it to construction materials and actual usage.

Bulletin 069: update UniFi gateways against denial of service

Ubiquiti describes six vulnerabilities (out-of-bounds read/write and uncontrolled recursion) that an attacker with network access could use to cause affected UniFi gateways to fail. All six have a CVSS score of 7.5 (High). Affected products are Dream Machines, Enterprise Firewalls, Dream Routers, Cloud Gateways and Dream Wall 5.1.26 and earlier; Express 4.0.20 and earlier; Express 7 5.1.19 and earlier; and UniFi Gateways 5.0.16 and earlier.

What does this mean for you?

The risk concerns availability: successful exploitation causes a denial of service. According to Ubiquiti, reachability depends on the network path rather than the device firewall. Not every installation is affected; check the product and version.

Which versions should you check?

Update Dream Machines, Enterprise Firewalls, Dream Routers, Cloud Gateways and Dream Wall to 5.1.31 or later; Express to 4.0.21 or later; Express 7 to 5.1.31 or later; and UniFi Gateways to 5.1.26 or later.

Ubiquiti has published UniFi OS 5.1.33 as an Official release for Dream Machines. The version bundles UniFi Network 10.5.67 and Identity Sync Service 1.8.4, and fixes an issue that could prevent applications from installing or updating.
